Citizens of the Tenth District:

The filing period for the 2008 election cycle for all candidates has now ended and we know what the races in May and November are going to be.  The Republicans have placed competition in nearly every single race in the entire state.  The candidates that are representing the Republican Party are people of high character and understand the needs of the citizens of all of North Carolina.

The corruption that exists in Raleigh today is the result of not listening to the taxpayers and processing an attitude of arrogance and overconfidence on the part of the Democratic Party.  We can look from Murphy to Manteo to see the results of this attitude.  It is time to change the leadership in Raleigh.

The statewide candidates the Republicans offer up this year can bring the type of leadership that we need.  We have an excellent slate of individuals who understand how to lead and protect the interest of the people of North Carolina and the Tenth District.

It has been 20 years since a Republican has held the title of Governor in the Old North State.  This will be the year we recapture that position along with closing the gap and perhaps taking control of the North Carolina General Assembly.  The organization, commitment and financing are crucial for that to occur.  I call on the citizens of the Tenth District to make a commitment that is the best in accomplishing this goal.

In addition, I would like to applaud the leadership from the North Carolina GOP that is working relentlessly to make a change in Raleigh.  Under the leadership of Chairwoman Linda Daves, Chris McClure and the entire staff at the Republican Party headquarters in Raleigh.  These people have a passion for making our state better.  Their efforts across the entire state to recruit the best candidates have shown great results.

We now know what lies ahead for this election cycle, so let us pick our candidates in May, come together as a party, and win the general election in November.

Thanks and God Bless.

Warmest Regards,
Bill Slagle
Tenth District Chairman
